Summer 2
Here are some of the highlights of our curriculum this half term:

English: Our reading and writing will mostly be based on the book "Around the World in 80 Days" based on the story by Jules Verne.
- Spelling: We are continuing our Little Wandle spelling units.

Maths: Fraction (one half, one third, one quarter of a shape and an amount) Time (to the quarter hour) 2D and 2D shape and Money.

Science: Animal Habitats.

History: Henry VIII and The Mary Rose

Art: Sculpture.
Other Key Information for Year 2
PE - Tuesday and Friday
- Please come to school in school PE kit - shorts or tracksuit bottoms in cold weather, white polo shirt or t-shirt, a school jumper and trainers. Please make sure long hair is tied back and jewellery is not worn/ stud earrings taped up..
Reading at Home
- Decodable books will be sent home on a Thursday, to be returned the following week on a Monday. Please read each night with your child - this could be a mix of both decodable books and reading for pleasure books. Please sign the children's reading log, which will be checked on a Monday and rewarded with house points.
What to Bring to School Each Day -
- Lunch box (unless your child is having a school packed lunch) and water bottle.
- They also need to bring their home reader and reading log every day.
- If it is colder or raining, please make sure your child has a coat and a jumper with a name in.
Library Day -
- Every Tuesday. Please ensure books are being returned each week so your child can continue to borrow from the Library.
