Here are some of the highlights of our curriculum this half term:

  • English: Our writing unit will be based on the book "Holes" By Louis Sachar. We will be focussing on developing vocabulary through setting descripptions and writing narratives.

  • Reading: Our focus book will also be "Holes"

  • Maths: Focus on division with remainders

  • Science: Material. Properties and changes.

  • Geography: Biomes and North America

  • PE: Dance (Bollywood) and netball.

  • Spanish: Phonics

  • Computing: Computer science

Other Key Information for Year 6

PE - Monday and Friday

Home learning -

  • Reading: Please read at least 3 times a week and get your reading logs signed by an adult. Bring it to school in your book bag every day and it will be checked at least once a week by an adult to be rewarded with house points.

  • Spelling: Will be sent home every Monday and due back the following Monday.

What to bring to school each day - Lunch box (unless your child is having a school packed lunch), water bottle and your home learning pack. Please only bring a book bag, no rucksacks please as we are short on space!

Teacher PPA - Monday PM - children will be taught computing and PE.
