Welcome to year 6! This is the start of a milestone year, and we are so excited to start this journey with you!
Here are some of the highlights of our curriculum this half term:

English: Our writing unit will be based on the book 'Wild Boy' by Rob Lloyd Jones. We will be focussing on developing character through dialogue.

Reading: Our focus book will be 'On the Other Side of Truth' by Beverley Naidoo.

Maths: Focus on addition strategies and place value.

Science: Living things and their habitats with a focus on classification.

Geography: Population changes.

PE: Dance (street dance) and Netball.

Spanish: Phonics

Music: Rap and Beatboxing

PSHE: Me and My Relationships

R.E.: Islam 'What is the best way for a Muslim to show commitment to God?'

Other Key Information for Year 6
PE - Monday and Friday
Home learning -

Reading: Please read at least 3 times a week and get your reading logs signed by an adult. Bring it to school in your book bag every day and it will be checked at least once a week by an adult to be rewarded with house points.

Spelling: Will be sent home every Monday and due back the following Monday.
What to bring to school each day - Lunch box (unless your child is having a school packed lunch), water bottle and your home learning pack. Please only bring a book bag, no rucksacks please as we are short on space!
Teacher PPA - Friday PM - children will be taught computing and PE.
