Welcome to Year R
Mrs Pinnington, Mrs Norgate-Smith & Miss Worner.
Summer 2026
Welcome back everyone! We are now beginning with our new mini topics 'minibeasts' and 'Journeys' for Summer 2.
We will be starting to learn about minibeasts by reading facts and sharing lots of information books and photos. We will have the opportunity to watch some real caterpillars as they grow and hatch into butterflies! In art lessons, we will explore some artwork- relating to the artist Kandinsky. We will also have fun learning some new songs & rhymes about minibeasts.
In the garden we will explore some transient art using natural materials, as well as practising our observational skills with lots of nature hunts.
In Maths we will continue to practise our counting to 20, as well as consolidating our knowledge of numbers that make 10. We will also begin to explore 'teens' numbers and to recognise patterns within numbers and sequences.
